About Us

We are two energetic educators, with over 40 years of combined experience as both math teachers and math coaches, who are constantly on the lookout for ways to make our classes more engaging and more fun.  We don't take ourselves too seriously and thrive on challenging the status quo.    When we stumbled on a simple way to spark engagement, build community, and bring some much needed joy to both students and teachers, we knew it was too good to keep to ourselves.

We have spent the vast majority of our careers working with the zaniness of middle schoolers.  They have a way of easily showing when they are bored or disengaged.  Our passion stems from them.  We love simple ideas that awaken a classroom.  Bring smiles. Breathe oxygen into a room.  Make memorable moments.  And slip in learning along the way. 

 

We believe that when kids enjoy coming to class, their minds open more to learning and growing.  If you’re looking for "best practices" labeled with a bunch of acronyms...look elsewhere.  If you are looking for simple ideas that work in front of real, actual, breathing, sometimes smelly, always unpredictable kids...you are in the right place!  We have tried these ideas in classrooms at elementary, middle, and high school levels and we always walk away with the feeling that this energizes the room and brings a bit of the kindergarten spirit back to students!  It recharges your battery too :)
